Suffolk County Sheriff Steven Tompkins On Why He's Cutting Ties With ICE

The Suffolk County Sheriff's Department will no longer hold detainees for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Suffolk County Sheriff Steven Tompkins announced he was ending his department's contract with ICE Tuesday night, saying he'd use the space to hold the increasing population of women entering the Suffolk County House of Correction.
